Mechanical Integrity Inspector

Encorus Group is currently seeking a full-timeĀ Mechanical Integrity Inspector to join our team. This position is based out of our West Seneca, NY Office.

As Mechanical Integrity Inspector you will be responsible for the inspection, testing and evaluation of customer equipment to ensure that it is safe to continue to operate at its stated design conditions.Ā  Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating with the customer to understand their expectations as well as to communicate company requirements and the results of the services provided in a professional and timely manner.


  • Perform field inspection and testing services for fixed equipment which may include, but not limited to API-510 Pressure Vessels, API-570 Process Piping and API-653 / STI SP001 Storage Tanks
  • Locate, read, and understand the federal, state, and local requirements governing the equipment being evaluated.
  • Communicate with customers regarding project setup, schedule, equipment needs, and inspection results.
  • Read and interpret Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID).
  • Produce accurate isometric drawings of piping and equipment using AutoCAD.
  • Perform non-destructive examinations using company-certified methods.
  • Utilize software (UltraPipe, Excel) and governing standards to assess the fitness for service and remaining life of inspected equipment.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, and follow health and safety practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance on designated test equipment, such as ultrasonic equipment and air monitors.


  • 5+ years of experience in Inspection/NDE or a related field.
  • At least one certification from the following: API Certification, AWS CWI, MT/PT/UT/UTT/ET Level II Qualification.
  • High School Diploma required; A.S. or B.S. in an engineering / technical field preferred.
  • Ability to maintain current inspection/NDE certifications as directed by the company.
  • Proficient in standard office software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle for field tests and inspections.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and vision test.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and other PPE.
