QA/QC Inspector
Epsilon Industries is looking for a Quality Inspector to support our fabrication, welding, and piping operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, project requirements, and Epsilon’s Quality Management System. The right candidate will be comfortable working in a shop environment, reading drawings, and partnering with production to drive quality and continuous improvement.
Main duties
- Perform in-process and final inspections of welded assemblies, structural steel, and piping
- Verify compliance with AWS D1.1, applicable ASME piping codes, customer specifications, and internal procedures
- Inspect weld fit-up, joint preparation, welding processes, and finished welds
- Read and interpret shop drawings, piping isometrics, weld symbols, and fabrication details
- Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions
- Support and review NDT activities and reports when applicable (VT, MT, PT, UT)
- Work directly with fabrication, welding, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts
- Support and promote a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records within the QMS
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade background preferred
- Hands-on experience with AWS D1.1
- Working knowledge of ASME piping codes
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings, piping isometrics, and weld symbols
- Experience inspecting fabricated and welded products in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production teams
Preferred qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT Visual Testing (VT) Level I or Level II
- Additional NDT experience or certifications (MT, PT, UT) a plus
- Experience with NCRs, CAPAs, and quality documentation
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
