Certified Welding Inspectors

Start – as soon as possible

Duration – 1 month

Location – South of Belle Chasse, LA

Work week – planned 6 day work week with possible 7 day work week if needed


We are looking for an experienced Certified Welding Inspectors to join our project team. The ideal candidates will have experience in welding and fabrication, be able to read and interpret blueprints, and have a strong understanding of safety protocols. The successful candidates will be able to work independently and as part of a team and will have excellent problem-solving skills. We are looking for personnel who are reliable, motivated, and have knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Implement inspection while executing and documenting specific test plans
Ensure that welding team members are qualified in conformance to the applicable standards and are re-qualified as required to use the specified procedures
Perform and document weld procedure specifications are correctly being adhered to
Identify defective or non-conforming work
Perform incoming material inspections and vendor inspections when required
Work with and maintain quality control records, documents and logs using electronic record keeping as directed by the project leads
Maintain and distribute accurate drawings and red line corrections
Maintain an expectation of quality, safety and urgency to achieve excellent production outcomes
Read work instructions and/or drawings to interpret and confirm production requirements
Verify that materials and consumables are in conformance to specifications and procedures
Verify that equipment utilized is appropriate for the work in production, is properly calibrated and meets the requirements of the applicable procedures
Utilize precision measuring instruments as required to evaluate the work
Issue reports and track resolution of non-conforming conditions as directed by the project leads
Perform visual and dimensional checks at all stages of production as directed by the project leads
Performs additional related duties as assigned
Regular and reliable attendance is required

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
5+ years’ of Quality Control experience with emphasis in Welding Operations
Experience in steel fabrication or general construction
High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
Knowledge of fixtures and weld set up parameters such as amps, volts, etc.
Previous experience in quality assurance
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and shop drawings
Familiarity with AWS D1.1 weld inspection
Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Valid drivers license
Pass 10-panel drug test
